Noted for her “flirtatiously manic” and “fearless and riveting” performances filled with “astonishing colors,” American soprano and electronic producer Julieanne Klein (JuXta) is a versatile singer whose repertoire spans from traditional opera to sultry jazz, experimental electronic music, trip hop and techno. Specializing in live and interactive electronic music, she has performed and premiered contemporary works throughout North America and Europe, including a recent tour with the Ulysses Ensemble performing in five cities in the U.K. culminating with a live performance on BBC Radio.

the debut of her selfproduced electronic vocal music will take place in the verein08 in Vienna.

She has two passions in life: electronic music and social activism, and has dedicated her life in merging this two seemingly disparate elements

Tonight’s performance will begin with electronic vocal works by Kaija Saariaho, Karlheinz Essl, Geof Holbrook and Ricardo Romaniero.  The second half of the performance will be a special hour-long set of electronic, beat-infused music composed, produced and performed by JuXta.
