NARROW BORDERS
Narrow Borders is a Crossover – World Music Project.
It connects the elements from traditional Southern African music to enchanting melodies accompanied by the instruments of contemporary music.
The idea of writing music that accompanies traditional Southern African chants (often sang as a capella) was initiated by composer Kian Modarresi as he met Vusa Mkhaya, the exceptional talent, Songwriter and the member of the prestigous a cappella trio “Insingizi” in 2013.
Their album “Memories of a Childhood” was released on 4 July 2014.
Narrow Borders ist ein Crossover-Weltmusik Projekt aus Wien.
Das Projekt wurde 2013 von Kian Modarresi gemeinsam mit Vusa Mkhaya (a cappella vocalist der Gruppe Insingizi)
ins Leben gerufen und verbindet die Elemente aus der traditionellen Südafrikanischen Musik mit modernen Melodien begleitet
von Instrumenten der zeitgenössischen Musik.
