NICK VAN PRAAG

Nick van Praag set up Ground Truth Solutions in 2012 with the goal of helping humanitarian agencies make good on their commitment to listen and react to people affected by humanitarian crises when designing and managing programmes. Nick’s focus at Ground Truth Solutions is on building the organisation’s team and its activities.
His prior career spans humanitarian and development work at the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the Aga Khan Development Network, and the World Bank. His interest in accountability to affected people stems from his experience of change management as Director at UNHCR and his work on conflict, security and the development nexus at the World Bank.
Ground Truth Solutions is an international non-governmental organisation that helps people affected by crisis influence the design and implementation of humanitarian aid. We developed out of Keystone Accountability, which helps social change organisations improve their performance by harnessing feedback from the people they serve. We also capture the perspective of field staff and local partner organisations as a counterpoint to the views of those caught up in humanitarian crises.
CAROLINE BRUCKNER

Caroline Bruckner is a multi faceted personality with many talents. She is an internationally awarded Designer and illustrator and a relentless writer whose screenplay for „The Confession“ brought her a nomination for the Oscars. In her new book „Love Is A Magic Whisker“ she explores an entertaining love story that takes us into the world of nobility and snails penisses. (On Amazon)
MATT LOUIS

To open a pizzeria in a corner of Vienna that was still unhip at that time did not seem to be the smartest idea at the beginning. Matt Louis did not care. In the winter of 2010, the musician opened his CapaTosta (stubborn skull or „Sturschädel”) in the Vienna Urban Hotel on Sechshauser Straße in Fünfhaus, gave the restaurant a modern black and white pattern, integrated a powerful pizza wood oven, which was specially made in the workshop of Stefano Ferrera in Naples, and set up a stage for live acts that filled the eating public with jazz and soul rhythms. The wilful concept worked: The pizzeria filled to capacity every night. For the summer season, however, the neo-gastronomer saw a need for action due to the lack of a guest garden, went in search of a suitable open-air location and found one in the Vienna Stadtpark. Matt Louis moved into the pavilion only a few steps away from the park entrance Johannesgasse, gave the fully glazed building the typical CapaTosta design and transformed the guest garden with its old trees into a large stage for soul, pizza and bistecca. He hung colourful lamps and lanterns in the branches, simply took the furniture from the 15th district and set up a container from which he served the drinks. He gave up the location in the city park, where live musicians and DJs regularly performed, and now spends most his time writing music, producing and djing.
Matt is a real globetrotter as well and a gondolier, he moved back for a while into the city where he was born, Venezia, an began to work for a license as a gondoliere…La Pizza, la Gondola and all over with Music….in the sense of Capatostare…I can only raise a toast to the Capo! seems like a real Italian Deal to me!
INDUS TREE IS THE CREATION OF VIENNA SOCIAL LIGHT MATT LOUIS AND SOFA SURFERS VOCALIST MANI OBEYA. THE GENRE SPANNING PROJECT ALIGHTS ON ELECTRONIC, THEN ACOUSTIC, NU-SOUL, FOLK, POP, JAZZ AND VERY OCCASIONALLY WORLD MUSIC. IT’S EMOTIVE, FRAGILE AND SIMULTANEOUSLY ROBUST. IT IS NOSTALGIC AND FORWARD LOOKING. THE EVOCATIVE LYRICS AND MATT’S FLAMENCO INFLUENCED GUITAR BLEND TOGETHER TO TRANSPORT LISTENERS TO A PLACE UNIQUELY INDUS TREE. SONGS OF LOVE AND PAIN AND WHAT LIES BETWEEN MAKE FOR A COMPELLING LISTENING EXPERIENCE.
