Dr House will ask how we know who we are. How do we construct our personal identity given so much of our lives are missing in memory? 

Dr. Patrick House is a neuroscientist and author of “Nineteen Ways of Looking at Consciousness”. He writes about science, technology and culture for The New Yorker and has a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Stanford University. He has worked at brain-machine interface startups and as a writer of fiction and non-fiction at various companies, including OpenAI. He is currently the writer in residence at Stanford’s Center for the Explanation of Consciousness.

For many years now these musicians have been playing concerts together dedicated to the songs of Leonard Cohen. On the eighth anniversary of his death they come together again in the Tower of Song to pay tribute to the maestro at the Laden, a location to which they are no strangers.
